1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Sumane AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Sumane AI provides AI-generated responses to text, image, and document inputs using third-party large language models. Features of the Service may be added, modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the prompts, messages, images, and documents you submit to the Service. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, and process your content - including transmitting it to the third-party AI providers identified in our Privacy Policy - solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you. You represent that you have the necessary rights to any content you upload.

5. Usage Limits

To keep the Service available and fairly usable for everyone, we apply daily limits to the number of messages and file attachments (images and PDFs) an account or device may send. These limits differ for signed-in and guest use and may change without prior notice. Attempting to circumvent them is a violation of Section 6.

6. AI-Generated Output

Responses are generated by machine-learning models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Output does not constitute professional advice of any kind including medical, legal, or financial advice and you should independently verify any information you rely on. You are solely responsible for how you use the output. Due to the nature of AI models, similar or identical output may be generated for other users.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to generate unlawful content;
  • upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
  • upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the security of the Service, including its database security policies;
  • harass, abuse, or harm others, or generate content that sexualises or endangers minors;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer the Service, extract its underlying models, or scrape the Service through automated means;
  • circumvent rate limits or attachment limits, or place unreasonable load on the Service; or
  • use the Service or its output in ways that violate the terms of our upstream AI providers.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third-party providers (including Clerk, Firebase, Supabase, Google, Groq, OpenAI, OpenRouter, and Vercel). Their availability and terms may affect the Service, and we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these third parties.

9. Intellectual Property

The Sumane AI name, logo, interface, and underlying code are the property of us or our licensors. Except for the limited right to use the Service, no rights are granted to you under these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted, error-free operation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or, if the Service was provided free of charge, a nominal amount.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 6, 10, and 11) shall survive.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
